Cave of the Little Lake (Well\u2019s Mouth): between light and slippery rocks<\/h3>\n\n

In Santa Maria di Leuca we often call it Bocca del Pozzo, but the name \u201cCave of the Little Lake\u201d better explains what you will find once inside: a natural pool of brackish water hidden in the heart of the cliff.<\/p>\n\n

What makes this place special?<\/h3>\n\n

It is not the usual cave where you go in, look around, and leave. Here, the wow effect comes from an underwater tunnel: sunlight passes through beneath the water and illuminates the inner pool with a blue color that looks almost unreal. The water is a mix of seawater and freshwater seepage, which makes it cooler and more distinctive than the outside. <\/p>\n
